Three Billion BAM planned for Pensions in BiH

The budget of the Federation of BiH for this year is the largest so far and amounts to 7,474,800,209 BAM, which is 537.2 million more than in 2023. Higher allocations are planned in practically all departments.

As stated, almost three billion BAM are planned for the payment of pensions, including an increase of BAM 317.17 million for their adjustment.

War recognitions

281.5 million BAM will be set aside for the payment of veterans’ disability benefits, the rights of demobilized veterans and their family members will be financed with 61.67 million marks, winners of war awards with around 18 million BAM…

The budget of the Ministry for Tourism Development, Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning (29.5 million) is 14.22 million BAM higher than last year. 27.2 million BAM are planned for the development of entrepreneurship and crafts.

More than 226 million BAM will be allocated for road infrastructure, railways and aviation, namely 167 million for roads, 30.5 million for the financial consolidation of “FBiH Railways”, 17.3 million for JP “Aerodrom” Bihać, 7.3 million for the improvement of air traffic, and 4.2 million for co-financing the construction of railway infrastructure.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry planned BAM 175 million for agricultural incentives. The Government stated that the plan is to allocate 463.6 million for the area of social protection, of which the largest part is for civilian disabled persons (272.65 million) and support for families with children (130 million). 29 million BAM is intended for caring parents, 16 million BAM for aid for a newborn child, 11 million BAM for institutions and social protection projects.

The field of healthcare

In the field of health, 75 million BAM will be spent on rehabilitation of health institutions, 52 million for the Institute for Health Insurance and Reinsurance, 10 million for biomedically assisted fertilization, 2 million for the Institute for Transfusion Medicine, and 400,000 BAM for the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Healthcare.

Supporting sustainable returns

In 2024, 26 million BAM is planned for transfers to displaced persons, 11 million for return programs to the RS, 5 million for support for sustainable return, and 4 million BAM for joint projects with NGOs. From the budget of the Ministry of Finance, 200 million BAM is planned for current transfers to the cantons.

In the department of industry, energy and mining, 10 million BAM will be set aside for the payment of the fee for the establishment of reserves of oil derivatives.
