The received bids of companies for the selection of a strategic partner for the construction and financing of the thermal power plant (TPP) in Banovici were publicly opened last week.

Munever Cergic, the director of the society, said that he will make a decision on the choice of a partner as early as possible, given the fact that the procedure requires the rank list to be approved by the government and the parliament of FB&H, and only after that, the final decision is to be reached by the assembly of the society. He believes that the contract with the strategic partner will be signed by the end of the year.

Within the foreseen time frame of 60 days, the final bids were delivered by three Chinese companies – Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited, China Gezhouba Group Company Limited, and Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited.

“After the procedure of opening the tenders, it was found that all three companies have submitted technical and financial proposals in accordance with the tender documentation, and the prices ranged around 495 million Euros without calculating VAT. The most favorable offer is from the company Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited which amounts to €495,000,006 Euros, and the prices of offers of other companies are also in a range of several thousand Euros”, as said from TPP Banovici.

The expert commission for the selection of a partner will analyze the submitted technical and financial offers in detail, on which it will submit a final proposal on the selection of the best bidder.

As a reminder, the project foresees a power block of 350 MW located between the two mining sites in Banovici. The project is a strategic goal for the Brown Coal Mine “Banovići” JSC, as well as the entire energy sector in B&H.
