The senior futsal players of Bosnia and Herzegovina are already in Zenica for the fifth day, preparing for the European Championship qualifying tournament.

Head coach Ivo Krezo points out that the team worked well:

“We can be satisfied with the work done in preparation for the tournament. The players worked their best and we put everything we imagined into action. We will do another training session tonight and we are ready to start the tournament.”

Tomorrow at 16:00 h in the Husejin Smajlović Arena, the BH team is expecting its first match in the tournament against the team of Cyprus.

“The Cypriots are looking for their chance to be second in this tournament, but that should not deceive us. They also have the quality and we have to give our utmost tomorrow to reach 3 points. It is important for us to open the tournament with a win”, says Krezo.

The head coach does not run away from the role of the favourite:

“We set ourselves the goal of finishing first in the group, because we are rated above the other teams. However, the ranking does not play, but we must be at the highest level, in order to achieve our goals. We are favourites, but we have to enter each match as seriously as possible and we will not underestimate anyone.”

In addition to B&H and Cyprus, Switzerland and Gibraltar are also in the group, which will play their match tomorrow at 19:00 h.

Match schedule of the Group A qualifying tournament:

29.01.2020

Cyprus – Bosnia and Herzegovina (16:00 h)

Switzerland – Gibraltar (19:00 h)

30.01.2020

Bosnia and Herzegovina – Gibraltar (19:00 h)

01.02.2020
