At the IDO World Show Dance Championships for all ages, which was held from November 23 to 28 in Riza (Germany), 2,100 contestants from 20 countries participated and dancers from B&H achieved top results.
Elvedin Šiljdedić from the Dance Club “Virus” Bihać is the vice-champion of the world among seniors, and Sara Rizvić from the same club won third place in senior competition, as well as the bronze Elvedin Šiljdedić and Adna Kujundžić.
Besides the DC “Virus” Bihać, the team of B&H also included the UPK Tuzla, DC “Gemma” Banja Luka and DC “Point” Banja Luka. Sports modern dances are very popular throughout the world and here as well. B&H also had its judge in the jury panel this year, Meliha Jahić. The national team of B&H consisted of 90 contestants. In total rankings, the national team of B&H won sixth place according to the number of medals won.
“The Contemporary Dance Federation in B&H is the only registered contemporary dance federation in B&H and has been successfully representing B&H at European and world level for several consecutive years. Show dance is certainly our best category and I want to congratulate all the coaches and contestants of the national team on historical feats, given the conditions we work in and achieve top results almost regularly,” the president of the Federation Velibor Srdić highlighted.
