In 53 hours, three Ukrainian citizens took at least 2.7 million BAM from the Sberbank ATMs in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

Although they emptied some of the ATMs during the working day on Friday, the Russian Sberbank did not notice anything, and it was not until Monday, the day after police arrested two of the three Ukrainians, that they sent a message to the Banking Agency that someone had stolen 2.7 million BAM.

Officially, Alexander Zajcev, Dmitro Bojko and Jaroslav Titarenko entered Bosnia-Herzegovina via Serbia at the Sepak Border Crossing on January 31 at 7 o’clock and 18 minutes.

Two days later, on February 2nd, at about 12 o’clock and 20 minutes, Boyko and Zaytsev were arrested after the Bihac police accidentally discovered them.  Titarenko managed to escape and police agencies in BiH have information that he entered Hungary a day later.  Members of the Una Sana Ministry of Interior have found about 100,000 BAM at Zajcevo and Boyko, while the remaining 2.6 million BAM, which, according to Sberbank, have been missing and have not been found so far.

The arrested Ukrainians did not cooperate with the police and did not disclose details and reasons for their action.

The three Ukrainians, police suspect, have been staying mostly recently in the territories of Montenegro, Serbia and BiH. It was in Serbia that cards were purchased through which, using special software, Ukrainians withdrew money from ATMs.
