”Jovan Tintor aka Joja will serve the rest of his sentence in Serbia after the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in which he was sentenced to ten years in prison for crimes committed in Vogosca was recognized, ” it was confirmed for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network BiH (BIRN BiH).

The Ministry of Justice of BiH states that at the request of the convicted Jovan Tintor, the verdict of the Court of BiH was fully recognized by the competent court in the Republic of Serbia, in fact, and in terms of the amount of the sentence.

”The next phase is the implementation of the transfer in which, in accordance with the Law on International Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, the Ministry of Justice of BiH, INTERPOL, and the BiH Border Police will participate, and until then, the convict is still serving his sentence in BiH,” clarified the Ministry of Justice of BiH.

In accordance with the agreement between BiH and Serbia on mutual recognition and execution of court decisions, Tintor submitted a request for transfer a few months ago in order to continue serving his prison sentence in the neighboring country.

Tintor’s sentence includes the time he spent in custody since February 2016, when he was arrested on the warrant at the Raca Border Crossing, Federalna writes.
