Today is the Day of Mourning in BiH

Today is the Day of Mourning in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the horrific murders that happened recently in Gradačac.

The two entity governments separately made decisions about Wednesday, August 16, being declared the Day of Mourning, while Brčko District marked the Day of Mourning on August 14.

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed the Decision on the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at an emergency meeting held by telephone two days ago, and the Government of the Republika Srpska did the same.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the entity symbols, at half-mast, i.e. mast, on the buildings of the institutions.

It is necessary to adapt all television and radio content, as well as all sports and entertainment events planned for that day, to the day of mourning.

Let us remind you that on Friday, August 11, Nermin Sulejmanović from Gradačac killed his ex-wife with a pistol in the presence of his daughter and broadcast it live on the social network “Instagram”.

He then killed a father and son at different locations in Gradačac, and wounded a policeman, a man and a woman.

Sulejmanović committed suicide after that.
