cinema sarajevoOver the past 20 years, the SFF has hosted tons of movie stars and artists, including Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Bono Vox, Mickey Rourke, Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman….

Don’t miss the chance to be a part of the SFF – it’s an event that gives those who love “the Seventh Art” a chance to view some of the newest top films from the region and from around the world, plus you can enjoy yourself into the wee hours of the morning!

Here is a list of the major Festival venues:

The HT Eronet Summer Cinema, or the popular Metalac (Gimnazijska bb), is the largest open air cinema in the region and can seat 3000 visitors. Metalac is the most prominent Festival venue, with film screenings, as well as the occasional appearance by some of the main actors.

Unlike Sarajevo’s other theaters, which make a break during the summer months, during the SFF Sarajevo’s National Theater (Obala Kulina Bana 9) becomes a center for films from Southeastern Europe. Film stars make daily appearances on the red carpet out front, and the Festival’s opening and closing ceremonies and special award ceremonies are held here.

There is also the Festival Square, which is located off to the side of Sarajevo’s National Theater and it’s here that Festival sponsors have displays in the pavilion and various social events are organized on a daily basis.

Kino Meeting Point (Hamdije Kreševljakovića 13) offers film screenings throughout the day and during the evening the cinema organizes great parties in the café. These well attended events are popular among filmmakers and the many fans who love the world of film.

Other major film screening locations include: Kino Novi Grad (Bulevar Meše Selimovića 97), Multiplex Cinema City (Maršala Tita 26), KSCSkenderija (Terezija bb) and Laško Summer Nights (Hamdije Kreševljakovića 24).

The main center for the SFF is at the Bosnian Cultural Center, where you can find the Box Office, the Hospitality, Accreditation and Protocol Desks, the Press Office, the Talent Campus Desk and an Internet center.

The CineLink Desk and Industry Terrace in Hotel Europe are devoted to the needs of film professionals.
