Tourists from 110 Countries visited Sarajevo Canton in September

toursts2A total of 41,395 tourists visited Sarajevo Canton in September 2015, which is 25.1 % more than in September last year.

Tourists realized 77,817 overnight stays, which is 21.6 % more in comparison to the same period in 2014. In the structure of overall tourist arrivals, 90 % were foreign tourists, and 10 % domestic tourists.

Most of the foreign tourists came from Turkey (16.9 %), Croatia (6.7 %), Germany (5.2 %), Slovenia (4.9 %) and the USA (4.6 %).

The total number of foreign tourist overnights participation was 90.4 % and domestic was 9.6 %, according to the data of the Tourist Board of the Canton Sarajevo.

In the structure of foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Turkey (14.7 %), Kuwait (6.6 %), Croatia (6.2 %), the USA (5.6 %) and Germany (5.4 %). The average stay of tourists in September 2015 was 1.9 nights. The average number of nights per bed was 8.4.

Tourists from the following countries stayed the longest: Qatar 5.2; Kuwait 5.0; Luxembourg 4.0; United Arab Emirates 3.8; Costa Rica 3.5, and Bahrain 3.4 overnights.

Tourists from 110 countries from all over the world visited Sarajevo Canton in September.

Usage of accommodation facilities was 59.5 % when it comes to the room occupancy, or 28 % in terms of the bed occupancy.
