Tourists From 97 Countries in Sarajevo

sarajevoThere were 24.384 tourists in Sarajevo this July, which is 8,6 percent higher than in the same month last year. In the capital city of BIH in July there were tourists from 97 countries throughout the world, and most of them came from Turkey.

There were 50.789 overnight stays, which is 1,1 percent higher than in comparison to the same period in 2012.

89,4 percent of tourists are foreign, and 10,6 percent are from BIH.

The most number of tourists come from Turkey (13,6 percent), Croatia (7,5 percent), South Korea (5,4 percent), Serbia (5,2 percent) and Slovenia (4,8 percent).

The most number of overnight stays, 90,6 percent, were foreign tourists, out of which the most number are from Turkey (11,2 percent), followed by Croatia (7,2 percent), US (6,7 percent), German (6,7 percent), and Slovenia (4,5 percent).

The average amount of overnight stays is two nights.

The longest stay were tourists from the Congo (15,6 nights), Luxembourg (5,9 nights), Kuwait (5 nights), Qatar (4,5 nights), Andorra (4 nights), Chile (3,8 nights), Uruguay (3,8 nights), Russia (3,3 nights), Switzerland (3,2 nights) and the US (3,1 nights).

People from 97 countries throughout the world visited Canton Sarajevo in July 2013.

Occupancy rates stood at 47,9 percent in terms of room occupancy, or 22,4 percent in terms of availability of beds, announced the Canton Sarajevo Tourist Community.
