Smart phone users will have the opportunity to find recipes and the way of preparation of traditional Bosnian dishes on the application, as well as the list of restaurants from the area of the Municipality of Stari Grad.
The Municipality of Stari Grad, in cooperation with the brotherly municipality Mamak from Turkey and Beta Tel Studio, created an application ” Online tradicionalni kuhar sarajevske čaršije (Online traditional cook of Sarajevo carsija)”, at which you can find 20 sweet and savory dishes and drinks, as well as a list and map of 23 restaurants in the Old Town.
Online cook promotes traditional old town cuisine, but in a completely new and innovative way and by following modern technologies.
This unique project is the result of cooperation between the Mayor Ibrahim Hadzibajric, who started friendly relationship with the Turkish municipality of Mamak in 2013.
Around 10 000 BAM was invested on the project.
“This is a way to get Bosnian cuisine closer to tourists. It was made in Bosnian, Turkish and English language, and we are planning to make a map of the Old Town with 23 restaurants, which could be extended to the whole Sarajevo in the future,” said Mayor Hadzibajric.
The revival of traditional cuisine in this way is an important project since technology and the use of smart phones are inevitable.
Besides Rutmap of Sarajevo, whose creator is Beta Tel Studio, the goal of this application is to facilitate stay in the city to the foreign and domestic tourists, and especially access to restaurants and traditional national cuisine.
Besides recipes and preparation methods, interesting and authentic photographs are available as well. The goal and the main details of the project can be found on the application, as well as the list of recipes.
What will help foreign tourists the most is the list and map of objects, as well as navigation, only in the Old Town for now.
The application is currently available only for Android devices, while it will be available for the iOS operating system in several days.
