The Times of India reported earlier that the Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, flying to London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

According to the report, the plane crashed in the Meghani area of the city, prompting an emergency response.

According to data from the FlightRadar24 app, the last signal from the plane was received just seconds after takeoff.

Indian Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said he was “shocked and devastated”.
“We are on high alert,” he added, noting that rescue teams have been mobilized.
