Trebevic to get a New Sports-Tourist Trail suitable for Mountaineers and Recreationalists

A new sports and tourist trail will begin on Trebevic Mountain, which will go from Inat House to the top of Trebevic Mountain. The trail will be 15 kilometers long and it will be suitable for both mountaineers and recreationalists.

Edin Ibrulj, the President of the mountain-ski association Trebevic-Stari Grad, which is in charge of project implementation and maintenance of the trail, said that works will most probably start in mid-September after they receive the necessary funds, and their completion is expected in late October. The works will include the construction of the poles, and some trees will have to be cut in some places as well.

“Trebevic will return its full glory, even stronger than it used to be. It is full on weekends. Tourists take a photo of the maps that we set up there and walk alone,” said Ibrulj.

“Besides activities related to diversification of tourist offer, it is necessary to also strengthen the overall development project of Trebevic in the institutional sense as well, i.e. to raise the level of security and this is the main goal of this project,” as said from the Municipality of Istocni Stari Grad.

When it comes to the cycling trails that should be a continuation of the trail towards the Home of Disabled Veterans at Brus, its completion is also expected in the near future.

If all three of these projects are successfully completed, the tourist and any other potential of Trebevic will be increased to a higher level, and the construction of the Trebevic cable car, whose completion is expected next year, will greatly contribute to this.
