The State Prosecutor’s Office presented its closing arguments at the trial for crimes in Bratunac, asking the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to declare Milan Trisic guilty and sentence him to an appropriate prison sentence.

Prosecutor Ahmed Mesic said at the beginning of his closing arguments that war crimes are, first of all, proven by witness statements and that the Council of the Court of BiH could see how many problems the State Prosecution had with bringing witnesses, injured in this case.

“These are the witnesses who, on every anniversary, point the finger at the Prosecution and the Court, saying that they are not doing anything. And when the trial starts, there is nobody around. They still condition us in order to testify, they ask for protective measures, often unjustified,” Mesic said, adding that during this trial, it happened to him for the first time that witnesses hung up on him.

“Their testimonies are doubly valid because we know what kind of hunt is being conducted against the returnees in Bratunac”, stated Mesic and added that the claims of the accused and his wife that the witnesses are accusing him out of revenge are not suitable.

According to the prosecutor, numerous witnesses confirmed that there was a wide and systematic attack in Bratunac directed against the Bosniak population, that the Muslim villages of Hranca, Glogova and Suha were set on fire, and the population was taken to the hall of the Elementary School “Vuk Karadzic” and to the stadium in Bratunac, where they were exposed to physical and psychological abuse, from where men were selectively taken out and killed.

The prosecutor stated that based on witness statements, it was confirmed that Trisic treated civilians inhumanely, beat them, took them out, and then beat Selmo Ibisevic, Redzo Arifovic and Redzo Sulejmanovic, and was there when they were shot.

According to him, through the testimony of the witnesses, it was confirmed how Camil Ramic, Ramo Karic, Hajrudin Comic, S-13, Hajrudin Dzafic, Meho Avdic, and Ramiz Kadric and his sons were killed, as well as that the accused Trisic participated in it.

Trisic is accused of participating in the persecution of Bosniak civilians – imprisonment, enforced disappearance, torture and murder, as a member of the Territorial Defense, Detektor reports.
