Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada did not offer ‘operational resources’ for the attacks in Yemen but supports what the United States has done.

He called Houthi attacks on civilian and commercial vessels absolutely unacceptable, according to the BBC.

“They are contrary to international law and contrary to the UN Charter,” he said.

He states that because of this, members of the international community, including Canada, have pledged to protect this region and this trade.

“Canada supports what the United States has done,” said Trudeau.

He added that Canada had not offered “operational resources” for the strikes, which he said were “very narrowly targeted,” aimed at preventing the Houthis from attacking sea lanes.
