United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump stated that he hopes a ceasefire will soon be established in Gaza and that he expects it to happen “sometime next week.”

He said this to reporters before leaving the White House and traveling to the Alligator Alcatraz residence for the opening of a temporary migrant detention center in Florida.

Trump said that next week in Washington, he will discuss Gaza and Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“He’s coming here. We will talk about many things. We will talk about the great success we’ve had in Iran. We will also talk about Gaza,” he said.

His statements came after Netanyahu announced yesterday that he will visit Washington next week for talks with U.S. officials.

“I need to travel next week to meetings in the U.S. with the U.S. President Donald Trump,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu said he will also meet with Vice President J. D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.

“We have several points that need to be closed beforehand in order to reach a trade agreement and several additional issues, meetings with congressional and Senate leaders, and security meetings, which I will not go into detail about here,” Netanyahu said.
