The President of the United States (U.S.) Donald Trump revoked the protection that the U.S. Secret Service guaranteed to former Vice President Kamala Harris, despite the fact that former President Joseph Biden extended that protection until the summer of next year, U.S. media reported, citing a copy of Trump’s letter titled “Memorandum for the Secretary of Homeland Security.”
“You are authorized to terminate any security procedures previously approved by Executive Memorandum, which are outside those provided by law, as of September 1st, 2025, for the following individual: former Vice President Kamala Harris,” the letter stated.
Sources familiar with the situation said that Biden, before the end of his mandate, extended Harris’s protection until the summer of next year, but that this directive was only published yesterday and became available to the public.
