Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler confirmed that the terrorist organization PKK was behind the attack on the facilities of the Turkish Aviation Industry (TAI/TUSAŞ).

In his statement, Güler emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue and that Turkey will not give up until the last terrorist is eliminated.

“We will deliver justice to these PKK terrorists again, but they never learn. As I have always said, we will not stop until we eliminate the last terrorist. We will make them pay for their actions and everyone will witness it,” Güler declared.

According to a Habertürk report, the attacker at the TUSAŞ facilities in Ankara, a man born in 1992, was identified as a member of the PKK.

Four people were killed in the attack, while 14 were wounded, three of whom are in critical condition, confirmed the Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya.

He added that the attack was carried out by two terrorists, who were neutralized on the spot.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who at the time was at the BRICS conference in the Russian city of Kazan, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, condemned the attack and accepted Putin’s condolences. Condemnations also came from NATO, the United States of America and the European Union.

Although there were initially speculations that it was a suicide attack, and some media also reported on possible hostages, there is still no official confirmation of that information.

Witnesses stated that the employees inside the building were evacuated to shelters and that they were not allowed to leave the premises for several hours.

The PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) is a Kurdish militant organization founded in 1978 with the aim of establishing an independent Kurdish state.

The PKK has waged a long-standing armed struggle against the Turkish government, resulting in major conflicts in southeastern Turkey and beyond. Turkey, the United States, the European Union and NATO designate the PKK as a terrorist organization for attacks on military and civilian targets, according to Klix.ba.
