Turkish Investment in Energy in BiH

bih i turska-1A BiH delegation and representatives of Turkey spoke yesterday in Ankara on finding opportunities to invest in the energy sector in BIH, and to establish cooperation between Turkish and BiH companies.

From the office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević, who led the BiH delegation, it was announced that she met with the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Jildiz and his Deputy Hasan Merdan regarding the participation at the business forum “Turkish Investment and its business people in the areas of energy, renewable energy resources, energy efficiency and mining in BiH”.

An agreement was raised between the companies “Temsan” and “Energoinvest”. The agreement will be singed on 15 May and the spoke with the company “Cengiz”, which expressed a wish to participate in the construction of the project “Blok Sedam”.

The Geological Institute of the FBiH and BiH and the Institue for Mining of Turkey agreed on the text of the agreement on business-technical cooperation, whose signing is planned for tonight. This would contribute to the renovation of the laboratory of the Institute, provide exchange and education of experts and a joint approaches to tenders.

The Turkish side expressed its desire to acquire laboratories for Mining, Geology and Engineering an the Electro-technical University in Tuzla.

Merdan will be on Tuzla from 4-7 June, where he will open tut Tuzla Fair with Prime Minister of the FBiH Nermin Nikšić, where the business forum Turkey-BiH will also be held.

Jildiz promised significant investment in BiH in the area of energy and mining.

Salkičević-Dizdarević spoke with representatives of the corporation “Turkish Petroleum” on joint projects and interests of this company to enter the BiH market.

She met with Mustafa Akasha, General Director of the General Directorate of Turkish Coal Companies, which also expressed interest for projects in BiH.

The BiH delegation was made up of company representatives and institutions from BiH.
