At the meeting between the RS Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Željko Kovačević and a delegation of businesspeople from Turkey headed by the Deputy Minister of Energy in Turkey, Hasan Murat Mercan, the topic of discussion was the possibilities of Turkish investments in the energy sector in the RS.

‘’Republic of Srpska has significant potential in the energy sector that can offer a lot to investors’’, said Minister Kovačević.

The Turkish Deputy Minister of Energy, Hasan Murat Mercan expressed his satisfaction at the meeting in Banja Luka. He said, “Turkey wants BiH to continue its path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, while in turn paying attention to enhancing economic cooperation.

‘’Today we discussed how to implement projects that are undoubtedly possible here, and after this meeting technical teams will continue to do their part of the job’’, said Mercan, adding that at this point it is too early to speak about details.

According to news agency Anadolija, the Turkish official used his visit to Banja Luka to directly address the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik.

‘’I want to use this opportunity to send an invitation to Milorad Dodik to visit us in Turkey, with the hope that this relationship will be preserved and strengthened through concrete projects’’, concluded Hasan Murat Mercan.
