Turkovic-Roth: Germany will continue to support BiH

Germany is strongly committed to the Western Balkans region and its future in the European Union, German State Minister for European Affairs Michael Roth said at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic in Sarajevo.

Roth expressed confidence that the new government would continue with the same policy towards BiH and the region.

“The new coalition strongly supports the Western Balkans region and will continue to provide concrete support in every sense,” Roth said.

He expressed regret over the situation in our country and reiterated the firm position of the Federal Republic of Germany that the future of BiH is only one, and that is a state that is unique, sovereign, multinational and multi-confessional.

He said that the High Representative has the strong support of Germany in his work, mandate and powers.

Turkovic thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for its help and support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in many areas, bilaterally and within the European Union and the Berlin Process.

During the meeting, they also discussed the current political situation in BiH and the region, as well as the foreign policy goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and exchanged information on geostrategic influences in the Western Balkans.
