Tuzla Airport: Wizz Air’s Base Opening Project Finalized until the End of May

AirportActivities and preparations for the further development of International Airport Tuzla and Wizz Air’s base opening were main topic of yesterday’s meeting of Prime minister of the Tuzla Canton Bego Gutić with Director of the International Airport Tuzla Rifat Karasalihović and General Manager of Tuzla Airport Enver Jukanović.

Specific activities aimed at base opening have already started, said Airport representatives, adding that they are expecting project to be finished until the end of May, in order to start building airport approach lighting.

” These lights are very important for safe landing of aircraft at night or during daylight in bad weather conditions”, emphasized the Airport’s representatives adding that in this way preconditions for quality work and development of Airport are created, not only when it comes to Wizz Air, but all other airlines which demand this precondition in order to introduce its operations from the Tuzla Airport.

Furthermore, today it was discussed about shown interests for cargo center opening and equipment needed for Airport in order to fulfill such requests.

“In order to resolve in planned manner, it is necessary to make workflow of activities and of what is expected from the Government by priorities.” said premier Gutić and added “Government is willing to help to the Airport, and we will institutionally strive to ensure prerequisites for faster development via higher levels of government.”

International Airport Tuzla reported a significant increase in the number of passengers in the previous period. In 2014. International Airport Tuzla recorded 151.000 passengers, and they expect that 200 000 people use airport services in this year.
