Tuzla1The Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Sead Čaušević and mayors of 13 municipalities of Tuzla Canton signed today an energy charter, in which they are officially committed to implementing energy efficiency. The continued improvement of energy efficiency, use of renewable energy resource and the systematic management of energy leads to the creation of new jobs and regional development, according to the document.

According to portal Tip.ba, this is a project that has Tuzla Canton included in the global flows for energy saving under the aegis of energy management, which is the key to survival. Since the project includes all buildings and facilities under its ownership, and of cantonal and municipal interests, of which there are more than 400 in Tuzla Canton, this is great savings that would result into the channeling of financing of other projects, said Prime Minister Čaušević.

The conference entitled Year of Energy Efficiency in Tuzla Canton was organized by the UNDP in cooperation with USAID, whose BiH leaders underlined today that their aim is to make Tuzla Canton an example for all of BIH. They are satisfied with the cooperation and huge motivation of the organizers and they have announced a series of activities that would, among many things, cover technical support in municipalities with the aim of a systematic approach to managing energy consumption.
