AssociationWirtscahftsverein Association BiH, that operates within the Representation of German economy in BiH, together with their members and partners, and with the support of German foundation Konrad-Adenaur-Stiftung, addressed an open letter in which signers say that they believe in the economic potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina and invite public to support the European path of BiH.

According to words of the president of the Association, Robert Kordic, the aim is to remind the public that there is a lot of successful companies in BiH, and that development of the private sector is of key importance.

“Through the work of our Association, which has around 100 members whose number is constantly growing, we found out that entrepreneurs are motivated for work and creating, and are aware of the fact that the future of the country lies exactly in the private sector, not in the public one, because private sector is the place where new workplaces will be created“, said Kordic.

Head of the office of the Representation of German economy in BiH, Alexander Mardian, said that in other countries of Europe, small and medium enterprises hold the most important place in the economy and that there are no big companies there.

“The public in BiH has no clear image about domestic private companies, end especially companies that are export-oriented are less known. BiH has a potential in the field of metal processing, energy sector, wood and food industry, and there is a lot of successful companies, but it should be done more at the improvement of framework conditions  of business in order to ensure the further grow, and reforms and the support of the entire society is needed for that“, said Mardian.

Also, in the open letter they welcomed the recent signing of the Declaration of commitment of institutions at all levels of government in BiH for the implementation of necessary reforms within the process of the accession to the EU, which was originally initiated by German and British ministers of foreign affairs, as announced from the Representation of the German economy in BiH.
