The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a proposal to the Court of BiH to order the following suspects into custody: Adil Bashir, born in 1996 in Pakistan, a citizen of Pakistan and Adnan Ali, born in 1996 in Pakistan, a citizen of Pakistan

These suspects were deprived of their freedom by BiH Border Police officers during the smuggling of a group of thirteen illegal migrants who did not meet the conditions for legal entry and stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The smuggling of migrants was discovered and prevented in the general area of Zvornik when a vessel with the smuggled migrants was discovered in the early morning hours on the Drina river.

BiH Border Police officers seized the vessel, apprehended the suspects, after which they interviewed the illegal migrants, citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and handed them over to the Service for Foreigners Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their supervision.

After apprehending and interviewing the suspects, the duty prosecutor sent a proposal to the Court of BiH to order them into custody, because they are foreign nationals who would become inaccessible to BiH judicial institutions upon leaving BiH.

The proposal was sent to the Court of BiH, after which the suspects were ordered into custody.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, acts in a number of cases for criminal offences of illegal migration, which is increasing due to more and more complicated migrant situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
