U.S. Backs Southern Interconnection as Embassy Officials Attend FBiH Parliament Meeting

Representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated today in the meeting of the Working Group for Technical Coordination of the Southern Interconnection Project, held in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Representatives of the five ruling coalition parties in FBiH and the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry participated in the work of the group.

The next steps in the realization of the gas pipeline were considered at the meeting, after the Government of the Federation of BiH yesterday adopted the amendments to the Law on Southern Interconnection and sent the draft of the international agreement between BiH and Croatia to the Council of Ministers of BiH for further action.

The US Embassy emphasized that it will continue coordination with domestic institutions in order to ensure long-term energy security and reliability for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina through the strategic project of the Southern Interconnection, it was stated on the order of the American Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina on platform X.
