Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Nihad Uk has called an emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Government regarding the arrest of two police officers charged with two separate cases – sexual harassment and sexual abuse of a child over the age of 15.

“I have called an emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Government regarding the arrest of two police officers charged with sexual harassment and sexual abuse of a child. We will be in permanent session, we are launching an investigation, and we will inform the public about further activities today,” the Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister announced.

As a reminder, police officers from the Sarajevo Canton Police Department, under the supervision of the prosecutor from the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office, arrested two police officers from the Sarajevo Canton Police Department during the night.

One is charged with the criminal offense of Sexual Harassment, and the other with the criminal offense of Sexual Abuse of a Child Over the Age of 15.

These are separate cases, where the police officers in question were deprived of their liberty immediately upon learning of them, that is, after an official from one of the social care institutions in the Sarajevo Canton contacted the police last night.

The arrested persons will be subjected to criminal processing today.
