University of Sarajevo promoted 103 PhDs in various fields

13045619_1759961040907239_80196919_nYesterday, University of Sarajevo promoted 103 PhDs in various fields, and diplomas were awarded at the ceremony that took place at the National Theatre.

Yesterday, University of Sarajevo promoted 10 doctors of medical sciences, 9 of Engineering, 8 of health sciences, 8 of linguistic science, 6 doctors of political science, one doctor of legal science and one doctor of veterinary science.

They also promoted 5 doctors of social sciences, literary-science, agricultural science and dental science, 4 doctors in economics and a doctor of pedagogical sciences, 3 doctors of journalistic science, psychological science, educational and doctor in the field of sports and physical education, two doctors of pharmaceutical sciences and doctorate in musicology, and one doctor of Islamic Studies, defense and security, physical, chemical, geographical science and doctor of forestry sciences.

“You’re our new power. Now when you enter the circle of people trained for independent scientific work, a very important aspect of your involvement in the processes that should contribute to this society to become the society that is able to develop according to autonomously chosen goals, is your confirmation in your chosen career according to as higher international standards as possible,” said Rector Avdispahic while handing over the diplomas to doctors.

He said that every year UNSA gives BiH society “academic town with 6-7 thousand citizens” ready to continue the tradition of a strong contribution to the economic, cultural and overall social development of BiH and this is a continuous mission of this institution.
