US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Michael Murphy congratulated Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Statehood Day today, saying that his country’s commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character of BiH remains unwavering.
In a video posted on the X platform, Murphy visited the second AVNOJ session in 1943 from Jajce, where Bosnia and Herzegovina was recognized as a separate republic within Yugoslavia, thus restoring its statehood.
He said that today, the vision of a sovereign and multiethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina is under attack from politicians who seek to overthrow the Dayton Agreement and undermine the state and its institutions, while putting their power and enrichment ahead of the well-being of the citizens of BiH.
“Our partnership has never been stronger, and we will remain with you and in your corner as you press your political leaders to do whatever is necessary to ensure that you, your children, and your grandchildren have a rightful place in the Euro-Atlantic family of nations,” Murphy said.
