Representatives of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the United States, called on the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to fully implement the Law on Public Broadcasting System. In the Opinion of the European Commission from 2019, the authorities in BiH are also called upon to ensure the financial sustainability of the system as part of the EU accession process.
“As we have said many times, the United States strongly supports media freedom. Free, independent and responsible media are one of the pillars of democracy. We fully support all efforts aimed at finding a sustainable, long-term solution and will support any solution that is in accordance with the laws of BiH”.
