US Vice President J.D. Vance said the war in Ukraine will not end anytime soon, and that Russia and Ukraine must come to an agreement on how to end the conflict.

“Now that each side knows what the other side’s terms for peace are, it will be up to them to reach an agreement and stop this brutal, brutal conflict. It’s not going anywhere. It’s not going to end anytime soon,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that progress must be made soon regarding the war in Ukraine or US President Donald Trump “will have to decide how much more time he wants to devote to this issue,” Reuters reports.

“I think we know where Ukraine stands and we know where Russia stands right now… They’re closer, but they’re still far away,” Rubio said.
