Tuzilastvo-BiH-002The Director of the Agency for International Development (USAID) in B&H David Barth will give recognition to representatives of nine prosecutors’ offices that have successfully implemented the first set of administrative standards for the prosecutor’s office as part of USAID’s Development Project Justice (JSDP).

Barth will also donate equipment worth 100.000 dollars from USAID’s dedicated fund for better performance of the prosecutor’s office in B&H.

Today’s ceremony demonstrates the support of the US government to the judicial sector in B&H, and especially support in strengthening the role of the prosecution. USAID’s project for the development of justice works with the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, Ministry of Justice, courts and prosecutors’ offices in order to promote the independence and accountability of the judiciary of the three pillars of government in B&H.

USAID’s justice sector reform program has also been working with citizens and organizations to advocate for stronger judicial institutions and greater engagement in the promotion of the rule of law.

Until now, the US government, primarily through USAID, has ensured more than 1,6 billion dollars in aid for the economic, democratic and social progress of B&H.
