solarni-kolektoriThe USAID project “Solar energy as the future of sustainable development”, regarding the extension of the project duration, and in the framework of the ceremony of the opening of the Info center for energy efficiency of Tuzla canton, held signing ceremony for an agreement with the project participators.  Twenty companies from Bosnia Herzegovina signed the agreement, including the producers of solar collectors, the companies that have made sustainable production of solar collectors during the implementation of the project.

The American Agency for International Development (USAID) extended the duration of the project for an additional 2 years, with which the possibility for the continuation of support for domestic production of solar collectors was made. Except the previously mentioned, the extension of the project will result in the increase of the number of end users of solar energy, who will be able to provide the financial aims for its acquisition. Moreover, they will be able to acquire them at favorable conditions and to do it through credit in the micro credit foundation Partner.  The project continues on the territory of the whole of B&H and will last until July 2016.

“In cooperation with Partner micro credit foundation, USAID is implementing a project named “Solar energy as the future of sustainable development”. The aims of this project are to develop opinions about the advantages of solar energy and to increase the capacity of local firms to produce solar collectors. With the constant support facilitation, we hope that we will provide for the solar collector producers to establish a new industry in this country and in that way to open new workplaces”, said Thomas Rojas, the director of the economic department of USAID/BiH.

USAID project “Solar energy as the future of sustainable development” is supported from the American Agency for International Development and is implemented by the Partner micro credit foundation. The total amount of the project is approximately 1.250.000,00 USD, and is financed by USAID, but also Partner has shares of 220.000 USD.
