The head of the Sarajevo Municipality Centar, Srđan Mandić, published a photo and called out the vandals who destroyed the lamp in the city center and threw it at the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo.

“What do you call someone who is able to pull out a lamp and throw it on the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo? Is anything sacred to them? The fight against primitivism and vandalism will be long and arduous, but we have no choice but to fight. And defeat this evil,” he stated.

The desecration of monuments is not new in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recently, not far from the Memorial to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo, the plaque on the “Nermine, come” monument dedicated to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide was destroyed.
