European Union (EU) Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi confirmed on Twitter yesterdaythat he had talked with a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and SNSD leader, Milorad Dodik.

He confirmed that he emphasized the need for urgent steps towards de-escalation of tensions, avoiding further rhetoric and actions that undermine trust and state institutions, as well as for an urgent return to fully functioning state institutions.

Further, he noted that this is crucial for the EU perspective of BiH, and that without it there is a risk of losing significant financial assistance.

During his recent visit to BiH, Varhelyi stressed that BiH risks losing almost a billion and a half euros in infrastructure investments, and called for ensuring the functioning of state-level institutions.
