ITA seized Various Goods estimated at 200,000 BAM

Authorized officials of the Administration for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Regional Center Sarajevo, during this week, seized excise and textile goods with a market value estimated at around 200,000 BAM.

In the area of ​​Kakanj, Ilijaš and Novi Grad Sarajevo municipalities, three business entities were checked, where they found textile goods of foreign origin in the sales and storage premises of the checked entities, for which the owners did not have documentation on the origin.

The market value of the confiscated goods was about 80,000 BAM. The goods have been confiscated, and appropriate legal proceedings will be initiated against the owner by the Department for the Enforcement of Regulations before the competent court.

In the second action, the value of confiscated goods, i.e. tobacco and cigarettes, is estimated at around 120,000 BAM with related duties.

Namely, authorized officials of the ITA with the assistance of police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica Doboj Canton, Police Station Žepče, acting according to the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in connection with the illegal storage and circulation of excise goods by a natural person, conducted a search of vehicles, family houses and accompanying facilities in the locality municipality of Žepče.

On that occasion, a certain amount of finely cut tobacco and cigarettes were found in the buildings and the vehicle, which were not marked with ITA excise stamps as prescribed by Article 25 of the Law on Excise in BiH and without credible documentation on origin and procurement.

As the characteristics of the criminal offense from Article 210a “Illicit traffic of excise goods” and Article 210b “Illicit storage of goods” of the Criminal Code of BiH were met in this particular case, the authorized officials of the ITA confiscated the said excise goods, and a report will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office against the suspect. BiH on the committed criminal act.
