radovan karadzicThe Hague Tribunals plans to pronounce a verdict in December to Radovan Karadzic, the former resident of the Republic of Srpska (RS), who is charged with genocide and other war crimes committee in B&H.

Pronouncement of a verdict was earlier announced for October.

Karadzic is charged with genocide in Srebrenica in 1995 and in several more municipalities in B&H in 1992, as well as for the persecution of Bosniak and Croatian population, terrorizing the citizens of Sarajevo and taking members of UNPROFOR as hostages.

Karadzic was arrested seven years ago in Serbia where he lived under the name Dragan Dabic.

His trial began in October 2009 and the Prosecution started with the presentation of evidences six months later and finished this process in May 2012.

Karadzic, who defends by himself, was calling his witnesses from October 2012 until May last year.

In the closing arguments held in the autumn, Prosecution requested a life imprisonment for the former president of RS, who expressed his believes that he will be released in his closing address to the Trial Chamber.

The verdict will be pronounced by a council chaired by a South Korean judge O-Gon Kwon, and whose members are Howard Morrison and Melville Baird.
