The pronouncement of the verdict in the appeal in the case of Vojislav Seselj before the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) in the Hague will take place on April 11, this year.

From the MICT was confirmed that the verdict based on the Appellate Chamber, which is made of judges Theodore Meron (the Chairman of the Council) Lee G. Muthog, Florence Rite Arrey, Ben Emmerson and Ivo Nelson de Caires Batista Rosa, will be pronounced on April 11, at 2 PM.

The Appellate Chamber heard oral arguments of the Prosecution on December 13, 2017. Seselj did not attend the appeal hearing.

The original indictment against Seselj was filed on January 15, 2003. The operational indictment was filed on December 7, four years later. The leader of the Serbian Radical Party surrendered on February 23, 2003, and he was extradited to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the Hague a day later.

On March 31, 2016, the Trial Chamber of this court freed Seselj of three counts of crimes against humanity and six counts of violations of the laws or customs of war.
