visegrad_001In the last three months in Višegrad, the number of tourists has increased in comparison to last year.

According to the Director of the Tourist Organization of the RS Nada Jovanović, there is great interest in the Višegrad bridge, Andrićgrad and monastery Dobrun.

She added that it is necessary to modernize services in accordance with European and global standards and requests of tourists when it comes to accommodation.

At the height of the tourist season at three international crossings for passenger traffic and one for railway and one for cross-border traffic, that is controlled by the unit border services of Višegrad, there were no traffic jams marked upon entrance to the RS and BIH.

“In the first six months of this year in the zone unit of the border police Višegrad, over 740.000 crossings were registered, which is 390.000 more than in comparison to the same period last year’’, announced the inspector for border control Muris Peljto.

“Around 2.000 tourists visit Višegrad ever day, and this season exceeded all expectations’’, said Branislav Andrić from the Tourist Organization of Višegrad.

On the way from Višegrad to the sea, tourists pass through the canyon of the river Drina, then through the beautiful landscapes beneath Zelengore, and the path to Herzegovina is significantly shortened with a new path that opened on 5 August.
