The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today that he expects the Serbian Army to receive the first 1,000 “Komarac 2” suicide drones by September and announced that the equipping will continue with other types of unmanned aerial vehicles.

After a joint tactical exercise with combat shooting at the Pasuljanska Livada training ground, where this new type of combat drones was used for the first time, Vučić expressed his satisfaction with what was shown, but also said that there is still a lot to be done.

“We will still have to make, buy, practice and work on a lot of things,” said Vučić.

He added that during the exercise, the delivery of ammunition by the unmanned platform “Miloš”, the use of a machine gun and a hand-held launcher from that platform, the use of the PASARS air defense system, anti-armor missiles “Kornet” at distances of more than four kilometers, and the effect of artillery (Nora, Gvozdik, Plamen…) and airplanes and helicopters.

“We have an increasingly close cooperation with Hungary, we attend exercises, and today you were able to see for the first time the BTR-80 armored vehicles that arrived from Hungary. I am very happy about that and hope for even better cooperation,” said Vučić.
