Vucic: I am not happy with what I have heard about BiH, we cannot count on an absolutely peaceful Environment

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said yesterday that he was concerned about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) after hearing, as he called them, representatives of Croats, Serbs, and Bosniaks at the European People’s Party (EPP) summit on the Western Balkans held in Ljubljana.

“I was especially surprised by what I heard about BiH. I will not comment further, except that I am not particularly happy nor did it give me hope that we will be able to count with certainty on an absolutely safe and peaceful environment… To define it in a mild form, ” told Vucic.

The leader of Serbia thinks that the differences between the representatives of the three nations are so great that he has never noticed them on that level before.

“What the representatives of Croats, Bosniaks, and Serbs said, those differences have never been more pronounced, and I have been in politics for a long time,” he said.

Along with Vucic, yesterday’s meeting was also attended by BiH Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic, HDZ BiH leader Dragan Covic, PDP president Branislav Borenovic, and Ilija Cvitanovic(HDZ 1990). The meeting was also attended by the High Representative (HR) in BiH, Christian Schmidt.

After the meeting, Sefik Dzaferovic gave a similar statement to Vucic.

“I do not want to beautify things. The current situation in BiH is dangerous and worrying. State institutions have not been functioning for several months because Republika Srpska (RS) entity officials refuse to attend sessions. They claim the reason is Inzko’s law, but that is not true,”  noted Dzaferovic.

He pointed out that any state, whose highest officials would not come to the sessions, could not function.

“It is not the fault of the state, but those officials. The only difference between European states and BiH is that we do not have a domestic mechanism for sanctioning such blockades,” Dzaferovic emphasized, Klix.ba writes.
