Washington received a Message from Moscow because of their strong Support for BiH

The spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marija Zaharova, commenting on the State Department’s statement on the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that the approach of the USA to the sovereignty of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina “is reminiscent of a split personality”.

Zaharova referred to the statement of Ned Price, the spokesperson of the State Department, who said that Washington will continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and call to account those who seek to undermine the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Agreement.

“Unbelievable. Ned, try replacing ‘BiH’ with ‘Serbia’, ‘Republika Srpska’ with ‘Kosovo’, the Dayton Agreement with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and you will get a diagnosis – split personality,” Zaharova stated on her profile on Telegram.

Zaharova believes that the USA, contrary to the decision of the UN Security Council in 2008, recognized the independence of Kosovo, which violated the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

The Russian official is trying to link the problem of Serbia and Kosovo to Bosnia and Herzegovina and draw a parallel, which the president of RS Milorad Dodik persistently does, even though these two events have nothing to do with each other.

Let us remind you that the US State Department made an announcement regarding the recent statements of the president of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, in which he threatened the secession of the RS.

“The United States rejects the comments of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik from March 9, in which he sought to undermine the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and made multiple threats about the secession of Republika Srpska from Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the State Department announced.

The statement adds that Article 3 of the Dayton Constitution clearly states that the Republika Srpska must fully respect the decisions of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the final and binding judgments of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was announced from Washington that the USA firmly stands by the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and the strengthening of state institutions.

They also pointed out that separatist rhetoric and threats to the Dayton Peace Agreement are irresponsible, dangerous and harmful to BiH’s progress towards further Euro-Atlantic integration.

“We undertake to continue to support the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to hold responsible those who seek to undermine the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement. Our commitment is firm, and the United States of America will not give up on the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” it was announced from the State Department.
