With the weakening and cessation of precipitation in the last two days, the water levels of all rivers in the Una-Sana Canton are receding or stagnating. The last measured water level of the Una river in the center of Bihać is 125 centimeters and stagnant, while just two days ago it was recorded almost half a meter higher.

The water level of the Una in Bosanska Krupa is 284, and a reminder that on Wednesday it was the highest ever recorded, and was above 350 centimeters.

In these two cities alone, water penetrated into more than 600 residential, commercial and auxiliary buildings. It is clear that great damage was caused in Sanski Most, as well as in Cazin and Velika Kladuša, where numerous buildings were also flooded.

There is also great damage to agricultural plots and crops in all municipalities and cities of the Una-Sana Canton.

Una Sana Canton Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić listed some preliminary estimates of damage to residential and commercial buildings, as well as agricultural property.

”Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry made certain preliminary estimates of damage to agricultural farms, and they amount to about three million BAM. When it comes to damage to residential and commercial buildings, the first estimates are about five million marks,” said Ružnić.

It was also established that the consequences of these floods will have a significant impact on the upcoming tourist season, given the numerous forced cancellations of reservations.
