Week of Italian Cuisine: Hundreds of Lovers of Italian Specialties gathered in Sarajevo

The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Italian foreign trade agency ICE, organized the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World” (SCIM) for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The BiH public knows and appreciates this event very well, which is one of the trump cards of Italian cultural diplomacy in this Balkan country.

This is proven by the great attendance and interest that was recorded two days ago at the Skenderija Youth Center.

This event was also an extraordinary opportunity to promote the candidacy of Italian cuisine for UNESCO intangible heritage, as well as a fundamental communication lever in the effort to promote the Italian agri-food sector.

The main novelty of the 2023 edition is the partnership with the Abruzzo region, which sent a delegation of six chefs: Federico Anzelotti, Yuri Corsi, Gianmarco Dell’Armi, Antonio Di Pietro, Mirko Valente and William Zonfa.

Chefs from Abruzzo will travel all over BiH and tirelessly prepare traditional dishes of their regional cuisine, and in an intriguing “creative fusion”, two days ago, the chefs together with the star of BiH cuisine, Miran Karic, prepared delicacies in front of an audience that included representatives of the international community.

Among the facilities that have hosted the chefs are the restaurants Kibe Mahala, Spazio Gourmet, Margherita, and La Tavola based in Sarajevo, the restaurant Kod Brke, located in Banja Luka, and Hotel Buna near Mostar.

This year, the nationwide well-known distribution chain “Mercator” took part in the festival.

The week of Italian cuisine in BiH ends on Monday, November 20th, at the Tavola restaurant in Sarajevo, Klix.ba reports.
