What is the Number of Persons in paid Employment in BiH?

In August 2018, the number of persons in paid employment in BiH amounted to 801.293, out of which there were 338.827 women. As compared to July 2018, the number of persons in paid employment decreased by 0,5% and the number of employed women also decreased by 0,8%.

In August 2018 the number of registered unemployed in BiH amounted to 448.578.

If we take 2016 as a base year (2016 = 100) and compare August 2018 with the same month of 2017, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 7 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 36.510.

If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 145.392, followed by unskilled by 125.583 and those with a high school diploma by 121.839.

According to statistics presented by BiH Agency for Statistics, the lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 6.897, followed by those with university education by 40.318 (including PhDs and Masters).

The share of female population in registered unemployed amounted to 55,7% or in absolute terms 250.026 females.

In the female population, the largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 78.697, then those unskilled by 69.351 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 65.147 females.
