Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton: Unemployment Reduced

nezaposlenost71.779 people are currently unemployed in Sarajevo Canton, which is 862 less unemployed people or 1.19 % less in comparison to last month, and 982 people or 1.35 % less unemployed people in comparison to the same period last year.

According to data of the “Employment Department of Sarajevo Canton”, the biggest number of registered unemployed people is in municipalities Novi Grad (19.976) and Ilidža (11.660), and the highest unemployment rate for several years is registered in municipalities Ilijaš (45.34 %), Trnovo 34.05 % and Hadžići 36.60 %.

TheEmployment Department during last month negotiated for the employment of 1.378 people.

Activities in the “Employment Department of Canton Sarajevo” and reform processes that for more than a year are being implemented in this institution, in cooperation with international institutions, certainly had an impact on stopping many years growth of unemployment in Sarajevo Canton, states the Department.

The Department of Employment of Sarajevo Canton is the first in FB&H that opened a bureau in Novo Sarajevo, as well as a Club for job searching, in which European standards are applied in operation with unemployed people.
