When it is expected for the Highway Section Banja Luka-Prnjavor to be put into operation?

During her visit to the construction site of the highway “January 9”, Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and Ecology of the RS, Srebrenka Golic, stated that the section Banja Luka-Prnjavor, in the length of 25 kilometers, should be put into operation at the beginning of the month of October.

She noted that this section includes 52 very demanding objects – viaducts, overpasses, underpasses, bridges and tunnels.

She noted that an especially important fact is that domestic construction companies were engaged on the construction of the highway and that they used construction materials produced in the RS, which is an important criterion for both foreign and domestic investments.

“The opening of this section of the highway opens new opportunities for investment and new development cycle, because the development of civil engineering as a primary sector will also ensure the development of at least ten other related sectors. We are happy to see that our contractors are finalizing this demanding infrastructure project,” said Golic.

The construction site of the highway “January 9” was visited by Director of the Public Enterprise “Roads of the RS”, Dusan Topic, who recalled that the total value of the works of the highway, whose length is 72 kilometers, amounted to 402 million EUR.

Topic said that they tried to fulfil the latest requirements when it comes to the quality of the built-in materials, as well as the works themselves, from the first section to the present day.

He recalled that highways were built partially due to financial reasons, and that the RS will have 105 kilometers of built roads in one piece when the remaining section from Banja Luka to Prnjavor is put into operation.
