Who will replace the Director of BiH Security Agency?

Osman Mehmedagic Osmica is counting his last days at the head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA). A man without a degree, but with numerous affairs, investigations and indictments behind him, became famous as the head of this agency by heartlessly protecting the married couple Izetbegovic.

Torn cloth

The last nail in the coffin of Izetbegovic‘s mandate was driven by Osmica’s protective role when it comes to drug dealers detected through the Sky application. The question now is whether he will receive his pension in freedom or very soon members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo (CS) will knock on his door. And while Osmica is the past, the battle for his successor has begun.

In the media, there was a spin-regime rumor that the “Eight”, led by the SDP of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), could appoint Almir Dzuvo, the former director of OSA and house police officer Izetbegovic, who unsuccessfully managed the intelligence service for 11.5 years, to this position.

This is a man who is close to Zlatko Lagumdzija, the former leader of the SDP, whom certain structures are now trying to sew up, like a torn rag, to Nermin Niksic, the current leader of the party.

However, knowing the relations between Lagumdzija and Niksic, the appointment of ”the spent” Dzuvo will not happen. Nor is his appointment an option.

No chance

Foreigners are also against his appointment, and a man who spent years protecting the failed regime, which his successor Osmica also did, is impossible to sit in this chair, no matter how close he is to the SDP of BiH.

According to available information, Bosniaks have better and more suitable personnel for this position than Dzuvo.

Soon this issue will be put on the agenda of the coalition partners. Although the battle has begun, things are clear. This position requires a professional, Avaz reports.
