Dalibor Bobar, a police officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairsof Canton Sarajevo (CS), was seriously injured while performing assigned duties in Stari Grad during the commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica, claim representatives of the Union of Police Officers, Civil Servants, and Employees of CS.
Namely, when it comes to this event, the public did not receive information through the official bulletin of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs that it concerned a police officer.
The statement read the following:
“On July 10th, 2025, at 11:55 p.m. in Krecane, in the municipality of Stari Grad, a traffic accident occurred. At that time, D.B., born in 1982 and residing in Sarajevo, was struck and knocked to the ground by a ‘Jeep Wrangler’ towing a ‘Dodex’ trailer, driven by R.H., born in 1952 and also residing in Sarajevo. In this traffic accident, D.B. sustained serious physical injuries, and medical assistance was provided by a team from the CS Institute for Emergency Medical Care, after which he was kept for further treatment at the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology. The on-duty prosecutor of the CS Prosecutor’s Office was informed, and the investigation was carried out by members of the Police Directorate of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs and certified court experts in traffic and mechanical engineering. The M-5 main road, from the intersection with Put Mladih Muslimana Street to the intersection with Moscanica Street, was completely closed to traffic until 4:10 a.m. the next day,” stated the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs bulletin.
The president of the Union Board, Viktor Catic, said that the CSMinistry of Internal Affairs remained silent about this accident and called on judicial institutions to do their part.
“Bobar was on duty at that time and was not some pedestrian. Also, the behavior of those responsible at the Stari Grad Sarajevo Police Station towards the family of our colleague Bobar is unacceptable, as they only learned what had happened more than 12 hours later,” Catic emphasized.
Additional details were requested from the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs, but no response was given. The response will be published once the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs provides it.
According to Catic, Bobar is not in life-threatening condition and is receiving treatment at the Sarajevo University Clinical Center.
Unofficially, it has been learned that Bobar was struck by the owner of a Sarajevo cevabdzinica.
