Will July 11th be declared a Day of mourning in BiH?

Yesterday, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turkovic, proposed that the Council of Ministers of BiH declare July 11th, the Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide, a day of mourning throughout BiH.

It was requested that this proposal be considered at the next session of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

”We consider it important that the Council of Ministers of BiH, by adopting the Decision declaring July 11th a Day of Mourning in BiH, expresses its position on the need to commemorate the Day of Remembrance of Srebrenica Genocide Victims, and to express its respect for genocide victims. At the same time, we remind of the Judgment of the International Court of Justice in The Hague and the convictions in certain cases of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), in which it was established that genocide was committed in the Srebrenica area in July 1995,” it is stated in the explanation.
